Sustainability
Working with wood day in and day out, it's impossible not to hold great respect for the beauty and complexity of nature. A love of the land is embedded in everything we do, in the shop and elsewhere on our property. The rural setting of our furniture studio is an abundant source of creativity.

"Living in the country is constantly an inspiration; it doesn't matter whether it's foggy, rainy, cloudy, snowy, each day is kind of magical. The view from the shop in all directions is wonderful. I really don't think I'd be building the same pieces in the same way if my shop was in the city."

Good energy
Powered by the sun, warmed by the earth
Both of our workshops have solar arrays which offset about 75% of our annual energy use (100% in the summer months!). In our furniture shop we added geothermal heating and cooling to further reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

Returning the favor
Trees used, trees planted
We owe our livelihood to the trees. A portion of our online sales are donated to tree planting organizations via Digital Humani, a non-profit that provides a direct connection with reforestation programs around the world.

Furniture for the future
Pieces made to last
Contrary to the trend towards cheap, disposable furniture, we strive to make pieces that will prove timeless in both design and construction; heirloom pieces that will be passed down through generations.
